stopping Smeg cooker clock flashing

A Smeg cooker came with a house.  It doesn't have a model number visible.  After a power cut, the clock flashes. I tried pressing the 5 buttons on the front, which are labelled with hieroglyphs.  Singly, then mashing them.  Still flashing. You have to press the second-from-left and third-from-left buttons together to stop it flashing.  Apparently, these buttons are called "timer cook" (hieroglyph: bucket with wibbles) and "end" (hieroglyph:  bucket with the wibbles crossed out).  Then you can use + and - to set the time, if you want.

kraken web site very bad

Image
Instead of having a simple web site that works, Kraken have an extremely complicated, heavy, and bad web site that doesn't work.  Even in basic ways. The login page is completely blank on firefox, for example. On chromium today, I haven't been able to log in so far. The picture of a phone's screen is a distracting animated, flashing, visually disturbing annoyance. There's usually some sort of log in button, but not today. Look at the scroll bar.  That's how much crap is on their front page.

Visual pollution in "first class"

Image
Most trains up the west coast are cancelled.  Meanwhile, an otherwise pleasant carriage is spoiled by these: The more you're not looking at them directly, the more they flicker.  It's not possible to read properly with one of these screens flickering in the peripheral vision. Same for enjoying the views across the pennines.  There is one at each end, placed to visually pollute the whole carriage in both directions. The photo above captures it mid-refresh. That's why it seems to flicker.  The current fashion is to spoil human spaces with this kind of visual pollution. You can put your hand as a visor if you want to read or enjoy the view.
